Oi! Oi! On The Streets of Montreal! ![]() I'm off to Montreal for a few days in search of picnics, zombies and good dancing. It occured to me a couple of nights ago that I would be in the city on the last Wednesday of the month, and you know what that means! I'll finally be able to attend the Montreal Comix Jam! I can't believe it had almost slipped my mind. If you feel like joining in, it will be at Casa del Popolo, 4873 boul. St-Laurent, starting at around 8-10. Check the site above for more info. I have a real love for the Montreal Comix Jam site. It's packed to the rafters with the work and blogs of a diverse range of artists, samples of their jams, blogs on comic news and theories, a soapbox for any of their readers to contribute to, links to every Quebecois artist under the sun, and too many more things to list here. I would link to each of these sections individually (and already have in my sidebar), but going in through the main site is a wonderful experience itself, exposing you to a couple dozen things you wouldn't stumble upon otherwise. If you aren't familiar with the Montreal Comix Scene, now's the time to start. Just looking over it again has made me reconsider doing a monthly piece on the Ottawa scene and submitting it for publication. If you're feeling jealous, you may want to check the Comix Jam site. Various jams from across North America banded together a couple of months ago to create a standardized address for their sites, with the main Comix Jam site being the hub. That's it for me. I don't want to miss my bus. I had a few things I was considering putting in here, like that whole Marvel Boy II rumour. And don't forget to set your VCRs for the only reason I still have cable, the new Ren & Stimpy cartoons. Check Spik...The New TNN schedule for details, though keep in mind time zone differences. Apparently the Animation Special, which aired this past Monday, showed the long-censored and sadistic short Man's Best Friend. It's being shown again on Sunday. Don't miss it!
